Hendri Koop selected as an Engineering News Record Top Young Professional in the Texas and Louisiana Region

NEW ORLEANS, LA | Modjeski and Masters is pleased to announce Hendri Koop, P.E., of Modjeski and Masters New Orleans office, has been named a Top Young Professional in the Texas and Louisiana region by Engineering News Record (ENR).

The annual program honors the best and brightest individuals in the AEC industry under 40 years of age who have shown exceptional leadership and service throughout their careers. Each of ENR’s 10 regions selects 20 individuals. After the regional selection, all individuals are eligible for consideration at the national level where ENR will select the Top 20 Under 40 nationwide.

Hendri joined Modjeski and Masters in 2019 as part of the firm’s structures business unit in the New Orleans regional office. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.

Hendri is a licensed civil engineer who has more than thirteen years of experience in engineering of complex infrastructure, including fixed and movable bridges, ship locks, flood protection systems, and hydraulic structures, with thorough knowledge of structural mechanics and outstanding project management, leadership, and communication skills.

“Hendri has the ability to tackle any complex task and is growing into a skilled bridge engineer and project manager,” says Stacey Carr, P.E., Hendri’s supervisor. “Additionally, his leadership skills have allowed him to mentor fellow engineers and engineers-in training, all while accomplishing he own technical assignments.”

In addition to his position with Modjeski and Masters, he is also on the Board of Directors for the American Concrete Institute Louisiana Chapter (ACI-La) where he serves on several standing committees. This includes organizing the chapter's Annual Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards Competition, maintaining the chapter’s website, and member and community outreach through social media channels and the website. He also chairs the board's oversight of the certification committee and volunteers his time to help the committee when they conduct examinations.
